Every great project starts with an idea and a simple drawing.
If you are thinking about a home renovation project but you just aren’t completely sure what you want yet, you have come to the right place.
As a former architect, I have had so many friends and family who were ready to set out on a home project with a basic idea of what they wanted, but they just needed to see their options on paper! It is not until you can see everything laid out that you can fully understand which ideas work, which ones don’t, and what the perfect solution is.
As I developed these conceptual drawings for friends and family, it occurred to me that this really should be the first step of every home renovation project, but inexpensive conceptual drawings are not a tool that most people have access to.
Getting started on a project usually means having a contractor give you a cost estimate so that you can decide if the scope and timing of the project is right. But, most contractors generally want to see something on paper before they will give you a quote, and paying thousands of dollars for a licensed architect to develop drawings at that stage is putting the horse before the cart.
